Peony Sketch from Highland Park

Pink Peonies, pen and watercolor, 10 x 12", by Tracie Thompson
Stood on the sidewalk yesterday and sketched this; added the watercolor today. I'd had so much fun with the pansies that I wanted to continue.

  1. It was such a beautiful day to do this. And I am sure the peonies smelled delicious.

  2. Thanks, Anita, and yes. The scent is irresistible.

Today I hope to find a group of irises and make a third one of these.

  3. I am so jealous that you have peonies just lying around, and that you can stand to be outside standing on a sidewalk. I think I would spontaneously combust if I tried that here.

  4. Jen, I wish you were here. Irises blooming all over the place, too, and big orange poppies in some of the yards.

We hit something like 102 here the other day but things have cooled a lot since then.
